The Faithful Giving Project was founded by Kendra Eakles in 2025, inspired by a simple act of compassion on Thanksgiving Day in 2022. After preparing an abundance of food for a family gathering, Kendra and her partner packaged the leftovers and distributed hot meals to unhoused neighbors in South Dallas—a community where many individuals and families face homelessness, addiction, food insecurity, and financial hardship.

What began as a small act of kindness quickly grew into a community movement. Beginning with 50 care packages in 2023, community support and fundraising helped expand the annual Thanksgiving Donation Drive to 300 care packages by 2025. Along the way, the Faithful Giving Project secured corporate sponsorships from local businesses, including dental organizations and Chick-fil-A, whose generous one-to-one meal sponsorship has provided a hot meal alongside every care package distributed.

In 2026, the organization expanded its impact beyond the Thanksgiving Donation Drive through its inaugural Girls, Give & Gather events, providing women with free clothing, wellness resources, menstrual products, vitamins, and access to affordable fitness and wellness opportunities through local community partners.

Today, the Faithful Giving Project serves the Dallas community through its annual Thanksgiving Donation Drive and year-round outreach efforts, advancing four core initiatives: women, homelessness, community wellness, and children. As the organization continues to grow, its mission remains the same—to serve with compassion, inspire generosity, and build a stronger, more connected community, one act of kindness at a time.
